“I have always loved writing and delving into subjects that grab my attention,” says Seanne Less, Creative Consulting and Development Works’ newest communications intern who joined at the end of 2011.
In 2010, he completed his National Diploma in Journalism at the Cape Peninsula Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). His first experience in the development sector came during an internship with the Media and Training Centre for Health (MTC). MTC is an NGO in Cape Town that supports marginalised communities in exercising their health rights and also creates appropriate educational media on topics ranging from HIV treatment and support to Conservation issues.
During his stay at MTC he worked on a wide variety of media related projects including community radio training workshops and focus group discussions. These projects had various funders including the Department of Health and Department of Social Development.
"I have a keen interest in the development sector and working for Creative Consulting and Development Works is a wonderful opportunity for me to learn more about communications in the field of development,” says Seanne.
He plans on completing his Bachelor of Technology (Btech) degree at CPUT this year and hopes to continue working in communications and media in future. |
