Festive Lights - ProteasEvery year, Cape Town hosts the annual switching on of the Adderley Street Festive Lights. This event brings people from all over Cape Town and beyond together for fun and celebration.

This project is an exciting challenge for the CREATIVE CONSULTING & DEVELOPMENT WORKS design team. Illustrators who have undertaken this work for the past three years included engineers and graphic designers.

“The festive lights would not be what it is today without the phenomenal team co-coordinating the entire project. They have really taken it to new levels of creativity, bringing such joy to the people of Cape Town.” (Charles Kadalie, Manager, Public Lighting)

The Festive Lights have portrayed the following themes: soccer (the 2010 World Cup);  Adderley Street flowers; table mountain and the cable-cars; Green Point stadium and the Christmas Nativity theme.

The uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that two-dimensional designs are transformed into a three-dimensional extravaganza. The management of the creative process – from research, conceptual development to design production – is CREATIVE CONSULTING & DEVELOPMENT WORKS’ strength.

The culmination of all the hard work is shown at the official switch-on of the Festive Lights, which takes place at the beginning of December every year. The collaborative work of the creative design team reflects the coming together of people from different backgrounds, transcending the barriers of race, gender, language and nationality.
