The Trauma Centre had an urgent need for consultancy services in the form of fundraising and profiling for the organisation. These services included: • Developing fundraising strategies for sustainability • Facilitating fundraising strategy team sessions • Developing strategies for partnerships • Assisting with concept and development of a fundraising video These services contributed significantly to the establishment of the Trauma Centre as a credible and effective organisation whose aim it is to provide support services to victims and survivors of torture. The conceptual work and input in terms of marketing, fundraising, organisational processes and strategic planning ensure the sustainability of the organisation’s services to its target audience. Additional technical support was also provided in the form of input on the upgrade of the Trauma Centre’s website, research on its fundraising dinner and commemorative book and the production of the 2004 annual report. “Development Works did not only see their role as consultants in a narrow sense, but contributed in a manner that has added value to diverse processes within our organisation.”(Nomfundo Walaza, ex-Executive Director, Trauma Centre)
