|
“I hope one day to address the issues facing my country of origin, Rwanda,†says Alphonse Paulin Niyodusenga. “I will be able to do so, using my skills in conflict resolution, peace and governance.†Alphonse left Rwanda for Zimbabwe, where he completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management. Seeing the need for transformation across the African continent, he went on to study for his Master’s in Peace and Governance with the Institute of Peace, Leadership and Governance in Zimbabwe. Currently, he works for the Institute for the Healing of Memories in South Africa, facilitating workshops that give way to forgiveness and reconciliation between people of diverse backgrounds, races, cultures and religions in both locally and abroad. Alphonse’s experience in running workshops and conferences, capturing and analysing large amounts of data, training, research, report writing, and engaging with leadership groups, have made him familiar with both public and private organizations working around social development. He works part-time for the Institute for Healing of Memories in Cape Town as a volunteer workshop facilitator to prepare the ground for forgiveness and reconciliation between people of diverse backgrounds, races, cultures and religions. Alphonse works for DEVELOPMENT WORKS as an associate researcher.
