"Always try to smile and be at peace through adversities," says Tanzanian born Neema J. Ndunguru. Neema arrived in Cape Town to ground her dreams for advancing development on the African continent. Obtaining her undergraduate degree in Social Science, focusing on Environmental Science, Social Anthropology and French from the University of Cape Town, she proceeded to complete her Honours in Development Studies. She has also completed her Master’s degree in Development Studies. Neema has worked on a voluntary basis for WorkNow, an organisation focusing on relieving unemployment in the Hout Bay Valley, the Independent Development Trust, a governmental development agency and for Technoserve Tanzania, an organization that provides business solutions to rural poverty. She hopes to become an expert in the field of development, contributing to building the capacity of organizations and individuals throughout Africa. To unwind, Neema enjoys spending time with positive people, laughing and learning to play the piano. She works for DEVELOPMENT WORKS as an Associate in Tanzania.
