Priscilla Magadzire, Researcher

Priscilla Magadzire"I am challenged by a Bible proverb that says; 'As a man thinketh, so is he,'" says Priscilla. "It supports a very well known and often quoted phrase that is attributed to Henry Ford; 'If you think you can, you're right. If you think you can't, you're right.'" Priscilla was born and raised in Zimbabwe and in 2006, she graduated from Solusi University in Bulawayo, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health. Two years later, she then started her Masters in Philosophy in HIV/AIDS Management at Stellenbosch University. Today, she is a researcher with DEVELOPMENT WORKS with knowledge and experience working in research and development issues. At DEVELOPMENT WORKS, she is responsible for preparation and implementation of strategy for expanding the Social Development and Public Health portfolio internationally and in South Africa. Her responsibilities include preparation of expressions of interest and proposals within the organisation's focus areas, identification of projects and assignments for implementation, managing and undertaking assignments as a team member, and ensuring integration of health and HIV/AIDS aspects to other work, as required. She has extensive experience in participatory evaluation and has developed qualitative research and evaluation methodologies that have been used with a range of clients in various circumstances. In addition, she has co-facilitated stakeholder workshops for clients creating platforms for information exchange between various stakeholders active in the development sector. Her other research interests include gender and human rights issues. Prior to joining DEVELOPMENT WORKS, Priscilla conducted research for international consulting firms such as Jimat Development Consultants and Primson Development Consultants.
