Development Talk

The South African team returned home from Beijing Olympics with one silver medal, won by Khotso Mokoena in the long jump on 17 August. He was humbled by the support he received from the country, when he was welcomed home at the OR Tambo International airport on the 23 August.

Well done to all our athletes who competed. Just the mere fact that Khotso and his fellow team-mates qualified for the Olympics made them winners even though only one medal was brought home, not only is Khotso a winner, but he has proved that he is one of the best in the world.

  5. People like this young man are doing a great job in displaying our country in the face of the world. We need more ‘go-getters” like him to sustain the beauty of South Africa and to present our capabilities to the rest of the world. Khotso proves the truth in the fact that South Africa is Alive with possibilities!
